Colleges in Karnataka to reopen from January 15
Colleges in Karnataka will resume classroom educating for college kids of undergraduate, postgraduate, engineering and diploma programs on January 15, Deputy Chief Minister CN Ashwath Narayana stated on Monday.
Narayana, in cost of upper schooling, stated after a gathering with officers involved right here that authorities had been already holding offline courses for final-year college students.
“NCC and NSS classes will also be resumed, apart from all hostel and bus facilities, as per the standard operating procedures (SOPs). The social welfare and backward class departments have been instructed to follow and implement the SOPs in their respective hostels,” he stated.
The SOPs are in place vis-a-vis school libraries and canteens, academic and cultural actions and sports activities, the Minister stated and added that coronavirus testing camps can be arrange for NCC college students.
“Colleges will set up Covid-19 testing and sanitising facilities and follow social distancing norms,” Narayana stated.
Arrangements have been made to distribute bus passes to college students on the earliest, relating to which the Road Transport Department had agreed to do the needful. He appealed to school managements to method departmental workplaces in their neighborhood to expedite the method of issuance of bus passes to college students.
“There are also talks with Vice Chancellors of private and government universities in Karnataka to hold offline exams. The exam schedule will be issued at the earliest,” the Minister stated.
